Mark Wahlstrom, host of Speaking of Justice, looks at the TelexFree ponzi scheme litigation

In this weeks Speaking of Justice podcast my guest was famed Civil Action Attorney Jan Schlichtmann who joined me to discuss the $1 billion TelexFree ponzi scheme litigation which is nearing a crucial ruling regarding bank liability for the fraudulent or criminal actions of it's customers. This ruling addresses the "know your customer" rule and standard of liability which focuses on the concept that banks have a obligation to recognize obvious criminal or fraudulent activity and funds which move their their banking system.

As the host of the weekly podcast Speaking of Justice, which is a featured broadcast on The Legal Broadcast Network, I am able to break out of some of the constraints on topics and issues to cover and start examining important trends in the US justice system, civil courts, rights to jury trial and threats to individual liberty. This weeks conversation examines the recent trend in mass torts and class actions by defendants to quickly move companies into bankruptcy court when they have a huge potential loss, thus short circuiting the MDL process and potentially impeding recoveries for injury victims.

Speaking of Justice is a featured presentation of The Legal Broadcast Network and is a weekly audio podcast which is long form in nature and takes a closer look at stories, cases and issues. You can easily Subscribe on SoundCloud so you don't miss any weekly shows, which I will of course always post here each Saturday as well. .
